At totara North Early Childhood Centre our kaupapa beings with - Whanaungatanga - relationships, kinship, a sense of family connections. We ensure to provide the best foundations for all Tamariki. This is our place, this is our Turangawaewae.
The principles and values of Te Tiriti O Waitangi underpin our mahi and are implemented naturally, respectfully and consistently every day for our Tamariki, whānau and local community through Te Reo me Tikanga Māori practices.
We value parents, whānau and the wider community's contribution towards learning opportunities for all Tamariki at Totara North Early Childhood Centre. These meaningful connections create valuable, collaborative transitions and significant learning and development for all our Tamariki.
We also understand the importance of preserving Whangaroa and beyond for the future so we show gratitude to our surroundings and pay homage to our environment by being sustainable in our centre practices.
Our centre is child-led and play-based. Our Tamariki know they have a voice and they are valued and integral to interpreting our curriculum Te Whāriki. We nurture and encourage each child's unique learning journey.
