📝 DAILY SIGN-IN AND SIGN-OUT REMINDER 

We kindly ask all parents and whānau to please ensure that your child is signed in upon arrival and signed out when leaving the centre every day.

We have noticed that this is being forgotten quite frequently, which means we are having to follow up with parents to obtain the missing information. Accurate attendance records are essential for our centre, so we appreciate everyone taking responsibility for signing their children in and out daily.

⏰ PLEASE STICK TO YOUR ENROLLED HOURS

We also ask all parents to please ensure children are collected by their enrolled pick-up time.

Our staffing is organised according to each child's enrolled hours and the required staff-to-child ratios. When children are collected late, staff are required to remain at the centre beyond their scheduled finishing times, which impacts their own family commitments and our staffing arrangements.

If you need to change your child's usual hours, please speak with management in advance so we can plan accordingly.

We understand that unexpected situations can arise from time to time, and we appreciate your communication if you are running late. However, we ask that late collections do not become a regular occurrence.

Vomiting & Diarrhoea

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

We have recently had a number of children away from Totara North Early Childhood Centre with symptoms of vomiting and diarrhoea, which can be caused by highly contagious viruses such as norovirus.

To help prevent the spread of illness throughout our centre, we ask that you please keep your child at home if they are experiencing any of the following symptoms:

🤢 Vomiting
💩 Diarrhoea or unusually loose bowel motions
🤒 Feeling generally unwell or unusually tired
🤢 Nausea or stomach discomfort
🌡️ Fever may also occur with some illnesses

When can my child return to TNECC?

To help prevent the spread of illness to other tamariki and whānau, children must remain at home until they have been completely free from vomiting and diarrhoea for 48 hours.

If your child has experienced diarrhoea, they must also have had at least one normal bowel motion before returning to the centre.

For example, if your child's last vomit or loose bowel motion was at 7am on Monday, they would not return to the centre until after 7am on Wednesday, provided they have had a normal bowel motion if they had diarrhoea.

These requirements are part of our TNECC illness policy and apply to all children. If a child becomes unwell at the centre, parents or caregivers will be contacted to collect them.

We appreciate your support in helping us prevent the spread of illness and keep all our tamariki, whānau and teachers safe and well.

Kia ora parents and caregivers,

Please be advised that from Monday next week, and until further notice, there will be no access up the TNECC driveway when dropping off or collecting your tamariki.  This is due to further construction work taking place at the school.

Please use the following alternative access:

➡️ Use the pathway on the right-hand side of the driveway
➡️ Continue up the school stairs
➡️ Walk across the school court to access the centre

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and cooperation while the construction work is underway.
